Care Instructions
Dry Cleaning
For our most delicate pieces with fine yarns and organic materials, we recommend professional dry cleaning. This specialized cleaning method ensures your garment maintains its shape, color, and integrity while being thoroughly cleaned.
Hand Washing
When hand washing is indicated, use cold water (max 30°C/86°F) and gentle organic shampoo. Handle with care, never wring or twist the garment. Lay flat to dry on a towel, away from direct sunlight to preserve the fibers' natural properties.
Airing
Thanks to the low lanolin content in cashmere and alpaca fibers, our garments naturally resist dirt and odors. Instead of frequent washing, we recommend airing your pieces in a dry, shaded area. This natural refresh method extends garment life while conserving water.
Storage
Store your SŪTRAS pieces folded flat in a cool, dry place. Never hang knits as this can distort their shape. Use natural moth deterrents like cedar or lavender, and ensure garments are clean before storage.
Additional Care Tips
Pilling Care
While our cashmere and alpaca fibers are naturally resistant to pilling, some of our products use specially carded yarns for extra softness and lightness. To maintain their beauty, gently remove any pills by hand or with a cashmere comb.
Moth Prevention
The best protection against moths is regular wear and proper storage. During warmer months, store pieces in airtight containers with natural repellents like dried lavender or cedar blocks. Always clean garments before storage.
Natural Detergents
We recommend using low-impact organic detergents specifically formulated for delicate fibers. This gentle approach not only preserves your garments but also minimizes environmental impact.
